MEET JACKSON AND Bird Noir. Jackson’s a Shetland Shepherd mix, Bird Noir is a black-masked lovebird, and they’re best friends.

Their human, Melissa Gill, started an Instagram account dedicated to them and their adventures, and it’s the loveliest thing on the internet right now.

The pair have been pals for six years

Gill told The Dodo that she just discovered them “hanging out” one day and that was that.

Every morning Bird Noir comes out of his cage and hangs out next to Jackson at the foot of our bed. Sometimes he makes a nest out of Jackson’s fur.

They’re both adopted

Jackson was found wandering in the woods by animal control, while Bird Noir was originally a gift to a woman who didn’t have time to take care of him. But look at them now! Happy out.

Their favourite thing to do is cuddle

So cute.

And Bird Noir even rides Jackson around the house like a horse
